England Form: Response needed
England will be smarting from their 24-22 defeat to New Zealand last week as they were leading that match but a sloppy second-half display allowed the All Blacks to work their way back into the game and deprive them of a famous victory.
Head coach Steve Borthwick has been criticised in the wake of that defeat for some of the tactical decisions he made that ultimately turned the tide against them, and he really needs a strong performance from his men here to ease some of the pressure he will surely be feeling right now.
LAST FIVE: LWLLL
Australia form: In a rut
This is Australia’s first game since an awful Rugby Championship campaign that saw them finish bottom of the table with just one win from their six games, which continued a general downward trend in Australian rugby following their dismal showing in last year’s World Cup, where they failed to get out of the group stage.
Joe Schmidt has a huge job on his hands if he is to turn things around, but that has to start with being competitive in the Autumn Nations Series, with this their first of four games against the British home nations.
LAST FIVE: LWLLL

England vs Australia Prediction
Both of these famous rugby-playing nations are not enjoying their best moment right now, with results not going their way over the past year or so and plenty of critisicm being aimed in their directions from fans and pundits alike.
There is at least more positivity surrounding this England team though, as it was mainly tactical reasons that they were unable to beat New Zealand last week. The Twickenham faithful will be demanding a response here, and the hosts look capable of overturning a -10 handicap in front of their own fans.
England vs Australia Tip: England to win with -10 handicap
