Emma Raducanu vs Marta Kostyuk prediction

Emma Raducanu produced a gritty performance to beat in-form Suzan Lamens in straight sets and advance to the second round. Despite the Brit admitting that clay still feels quite foreign to her due to a lack of matches on the surface, she performed when it mattered during the big moments to win 7-6 6-4.

She now faces Marta Kostyuk. The Ukrainian withdrew from Stuttgart but has been in good form recently with fourth-round finishes at both Indian Wells and Miami before helping Ukraine reach the finals of the Billie Jean King Cup. Kostyuk has not enjoyed much success at this event, having never managed to make it out of the second-round on three separate occasions.

These two have faced each other twice before with the head-to-head at 1-1. Kostyuk won their first encounter at the Transylvania Open, just Raducanu’s second competition after her landmark US Open triumph, but their last match was actually in Madrid three years ago with Raducanu easily winning 6-1 6-2.

Raducanu seems more settled than she ever has been, and we think she can overpower Kostyuk with some big hitting over three sets.
