Elsa Jacquemot vs Elena-Gabriela Ruse prediction

Elsa Jacquemot struggled to make much of an impact at her last event in Antaly at a WTA 125k event. She came through in her first-round match but fell to a defeat at the next stage, losing to Simona Waltert. 

The 21-year-old takes on Elena-Gabriela Ruse, with the Romanian coming off the back of an encouraging run in Indian Wells. She won all three qualifying matches, plus in the first-round against Polina Kudermetova and then a fabulous straight sets victory against 29th seed Magdalena Frech.

She was forced to retire midway through her match with world number one Aryna Sabalenka, having lost the first set 6-1. Nevertheless, Ruse must take encouragement from her overall performance at the event and take it with her during this clay court season.

It has been over three weeks since she last played but we think Ruse is good value to win comfortably and advance through to the second round.
