Elina Svitolina vs Jessica Pegula Prediction

Elina Svitolina has not had it all her own way en route to the round of 16 but she will be hoping to step it up a level now she faces fourth-seed Jessica Pegula.

Svitolina needed three sets to overcome Ashlyn Krueger in her first match but she was better in her last match as she beat Danielle Collins 6-2 6-4. She is going to have to notably improve however especially having served eight double faults in both of those matches so far.

Pegula has been cruising so far having beaten Magda Linette 6-4 6-2 and Wang Zinyu 6-2 6-1 she is looking extremely strong.

She will take heart from the head-to-head against Svitolina as she has won five of the seven matches between the two so far.

That combined with her outstanding performances so far suggest Pegula will take some beating here and we expect her to progress.
