Elina Svitolina vs Elena-Gabriela Ruse prediction
Elina Svitolina booked her place in the last four with a comfortable win over Jessica Bouzas Maneiro. The Ukrainian won 6-3 6-2 in an aggressive performance which saw her hit 30 winners overall. She has lost just 15 games in the three matches she’s played, without losing a set so far.
The number one seed will be confident about her chances of going all the way but faces Elena Gabriela-Ruse in the semi-final. The Romanian had a similarly comfortable quarter-final, getting past Jessika Ponchet 6-2 6-2, giving up just three break points during the entire match. She was also pretty strong on serve, winning 76% of points on her first serve and hammering down four aces.
These two have met twice before, with Svitolina winning both. Their last match was on clay in Chiasso, with the Ukrainian winning 6-4 6-2 in April 2023. The world number 18 has rarely been troubled in this tournament so far and we can’t see that changing here. We think she’s good value to win in straight sets for the fourth successive match.
Elina Svitolina vs Elena-Gabriela Ruse tip: Elina Svitolina to win 2-0
