Elena Rybakina vs Qinwen Zheng Prediction
Elena Rybakina lost her opening match to Jasmine Paolini on Saturday 7-6 6-4 and she will know she has to improve various parts of her performance if she is to fare better here.
While she served eight aces, it was ultimately her service game that let her down and she will want to improve her win percentages on both first and second serve.
Rybakina can take some heart from the fact she has met Qinwen Zheng twice before and won both matches in straight sets.
Zheng was outplayed by Aryna Sabalenka 6-3 6-4 and she never really looked capable or likely of causing Sabalenka any real issues.
Zheng has stayed active in the Asian leg of the WTA Tour and she comes off winning in the Japan Open while Rybakina has rested since the US Open. Given how Swiatek started slow but eventually hit her stride. Rybakina could well profit the same way and she will hope to hit her stride her especially against a player she has beaten in both previous meetings.
All points towards Rybakina in this one and we just edge her to beat Zheng.
