Since her deep tournament run in Qatar, Ekaterina Alexandrova has found singles competition very difficult, going out in the first round of both Dubai and Indian Wells. Failure to regain her footing in that department could lead to another early exit for her in Miami, with Magda Linette fresh off the back of a straight sets victory over Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova.
