Ekaterina Alexandrova vs Ann Li prediction

Ekaterina Alexandrova enjoyed a great start to her season, with a first WTA 500 title at the Linz Open. She then followed that up with a stunning victories over world number one Aryna Sabalenka and Jessica Pegula at the Qatar Open before losing in straight sets to Amanda Anisimova in the semi-final.

However, the results have dried up for Alexandrova since those two tournaments, with back-to-back-to-back defeats in Dubai, Indian Wells and Miami. She now starts her clay court season and will hope for a massive improvement on her record last season on the surface, ending 2024 with a 1-6 win/loss record.

Ann Li defeated Anna Blinkova in straight sets to reach the second round and could prove to be a threat to the out-of-form Alexandrova. In what is the first ever meeting between the two, we think the ninth seed should get back to winning ways with a win here.
