Edgar Chairez vs C.J. Vergara Prediction

This fight in the UFC's flyweight division is a fantastic piece of matchmaking as Edgar Chairez and C.J. Vergara are coming into this fight in desperate need of a victory.

Both fighters are coming off losses – two in the case of Vergara – both have very similar records, and both will feel they have something to prove ahead of this fight in Mexico City.

Vergara has not won a fight in almost two years and he will have to raise his performance levels to get a win here.

Chairez will love the opportunity to fight in front of his home crowd and one would expect that to bring the best out of the Mexican. The 29-year-old is really well-rounded and all eleven of his wins have come via stoppage (four knockout and seven submissions).

Vergara on the other hand has seven knockouts, but has shown an ability to grind out wins over the distance when required. He will surely look to nullify Chairez’s threats and try control this fight but Chairez is dangerous standing or on the mat.

We like the Mexican’s chances in this one and the crowd could really make a difference for him. Vergara has shown little of late and Chairez can get back to winning ways in this one.

Prediction: Edgar Chairez to win
