Dusan Lajovic vs Christopher O’Connell prediction
Dusan Lajovic is fresh off the back of a decent showing in a Girona Challenger, though the Serbian was resoundingly defeated by the unseeded Elmer Moller in the semi-finals. During the clay court swing in South America, he won just once, while he couldn’t make it out of the qualifiers at the Miami Open so he’s not in the best of form as we approach this event.
Christopher O’Connell is yet to play on clay this season but is the player in better form, making it through the qualifiers in Qatar, Dubai and Miami and losing to high-level opponents. For example, he lost to Jack Draper in Qatar who would go on to make the final and Matteo Berrettini in both Dubai and Indian Wells.
O’Connell is ranked the higher of the two men, and despite the two having never played before, we fancy the Australian to win this one.
