Donna Vekic vs Madison Keys Prediction

Having lost her previous four matches heading into Indian Wells, Donna Vekic was very much out of form prior to this tournament but she has since recorded confidence-boosting wins over Elina Avanesyan and tenth seed Emma Navarro without dropping a set.

The Croatian, on her tenth appearance at the Indian Wells Open, made the most of her opportunities against Navarro by converting seven of her nine break points, and has made it to the round of 16 here for the first time in her career.

Australian Open champion Madison Keys was put through her paces by Elise Mertens in the third round but eventually came through 6-2, 6-7 (8-10), 6-4 in an admittedly error-strewn contest.

As shown by the fact she made 12 double faults, the American showed dome signs of rust in what is her first tournament since her Grand Slam success in Melbourne.

In what is a first meeting between the pair since 2019, Keys is naturally the favourite here but she is not up to full speed yet. With that in mind, Vekic could nick a set.
