Donna Vekic vs Hailey Baptiste prediction

Donna Vekic suffered a surprising loss to compatriot Jana Fett in the first-round of the Stuttgart Open and will be hoping for a much better showing at this clay court event. Vekic hasn’t had the best of seasons since making the fourth-round of the Australian Open though did manage another fourth-round appearance at Indian Wells a month ago. She did not get past the second-round here last season but did show her quality on the surface by making the final of the Paris Olympics.

Hailey Baptiste will be her opponent. Baptiste won in the first-round after battling through to beat Sorana Cirstea 6-2 5-7 7-6. This has already been something of a breakthrough for the American as she has reached the second-round on clay of a 1000 event for the first time.

We expect Vekic to get back to winning ways here and make the third-round, though she will have to work hard for the victory against Baptiste.
