Donna Vekic vs Emma Navarro prediction

Donna Vekic was always in control in her second-round match, not losing serve as she defeated Hailey Baptiste 6-4 6-3. She won an impressive 80% of points on her second serve and can now look forward to a clash with Emma Navarro.

Navarro, the 11th seed, struggled at points during her match with Australian Mary Joint but managed to win 7-5 7-5. The American was broken on four separate occasions and her serve was a problem during the match, as she committed seven double faults and struck down zero aces. Her form has not been particularly impressive ever since her victory at the Merida Open at the very beginning of March.

The head-to-head favours Vekic, who has won their two previous encounters though this is their first match against each other on clay. That includes the third-round of this year’s event at Indian Wells just last month. The Croatian won a tight first set before racing clear to win 7-6 6-1. 

Neither player is in great form and this could prove to be close between the pair.
