75-year-old Wayne Bennett returns to the Rabbitohs for a second spell as he attempts to turn around their fortunes this season. He gets underway against his former club which will provide added motivation but he is not helped by the absence of Latrell Mitchell, Cameron Murray and Louis Dodd for this opener.

This is a fascinating match and one that has thrown up all kinds of additional factors coming into it due to the cyclone.
The Dolphins are slightly weakened and have lost home advantage but that adversity may well see them grit their teeth and give it an extra few percent.
The Rabbitohs will be hoping for the new coach spark and will be delighted with home advantage. Their preparations have seemingly been less impacted than the Dolphins.
Bennett has some real work to do and it will take him time. Their defence was poor last season and it will be interesting to see if there is an improvement there. We do not see it happening so early in the season.
We are staying clear of picking a winner given all the disruption around the game but we do like the overs. Both teams are capable of scoring plenty of points but there are questions marks about the defensive side of the game.
