Dolphins vs Melbourne Storm prediction
The Dolphins take on the Melbourne Storm one week removed from the best performance in the club’s history; a convincing 30-12 victory against the defending premiers Penrith. It does not get any easier against the 2024 runners-up who have shown they are the team to beat in this year’s competition.
The Storm shifted to another gear in the first half against the Warriors, racing to a 36-0 half time lead before taking the foot off the accelerator in the second half of an eventual 42-14 masterpiece.
The Dolphins second straight victory comes off the back of patchy form in the first month of the season. Tight defeats against Souths and the Tigers coupled with a heavy defeat at Newcastle had the pressure meter turned up in the north of Brisbane but a strong win against the Titans and then last week’s breakthrough effort against the Panthers has shown the NRL that the new kids on the block are more than capable on their day.
The Dolphins are yet to knock over the Storm in their three meetings to date, the closest they have got is six points in August last year. This game promises to deliver plenty of points and we like the Storm to continue their point scoring spree against a Dolphins side still finding their groove.
