Diego Dedura-Palomero vs Denis Shapovalov prediction

Diego Dedura-Palomero enters the tournament as a lucky loser after Gael Monfils was forced to withdraw from the event. He had lost in qualifying at the second stage to Alexander Bubilk. This will be the first time he enters the main draw of an ATP Tour event, with the German having played Challenger events for most of the season so far.

He has not gone far in many of those events, but did beat Mackenzie McDonald in the first stage of qualifying and will be excited at the prospect of playing in front of a home crowd. His opponent is Canada’s Denis Shapovalov.

Shapovalov suffered an early first-round loss in Monte-Carlo to Marcos Giron but on the whole, his form has been pretty good this year with a win at the Dallas Open and a semi-final appearance in Mexico.

It will be valuable experience for the 17-year-old, but we think Shapovalov will defeat the world number 549 heavily and advance to the next round.

Diego Dedura-Palomero vs Denis Shapovalov tip: Denis Shapovalov to win 2-0
