Diane Parry vs Anna Kalinskaya prediction

Diane Parry played arguably her best match of the season so far to defeat Irina-Camelia Begu 6-3 6-4 and advance to the second-round. She broke early at the start of both sets and never looked back in either. She now takes on Anna Kalinskaya.

Kalinskaya was producing some fine tennis in her first clay court event of the year at Charleston, easily getting past Caty McNally and then doing the same to second seed and Australian Open champion Madison Keys. Her momentum was halted somewhat after losing to Sofia Kenin in straight sets in the last eight, with Kenin going all the way to the final. Nevertheless, there were positives that Kalinskaya could take for the rest of the clay court season, especially in terms of the way she was dictating points.

Despite Parry being on an upwards trajectory in terms of form, we expect Kalinskaya to wrap this up in straight sets and make it through to the third-round.
