Denis Shapovalov vs Tommy Paul Prediction
Denis Shapovalov is growing with confidence over the course of this week in Dallas and the manner of his quarter-final win over Tomas Machac will only serve to boost his morale and belief further.
After edging a close first set which went to a tiebreak, Shapovalov dominated the second winning 6-0 to knock out the sixth seed. That was the second successive seed that he eliminated as he edged past top seed Taylor Fritz in the round of 16.
He now faces yet another tough test in defending champion Tommy Paul on centre court.
Paul has beaten three fellow Americans en route to the semis with the latest win coming against the big-serving Reilly Opelka. Paul had the answer to Opelka’s massive serve and that was his best display of the week so far.
The pair have met three times before with Paul winning two of them but all of them were a few years ago. Interestingly all three matches went to a deciding set.
We can see this one following that trend and going all the way. We have a marginal leaning towards Shapovalov as the underdog and the value on him but consider game betting here.
