Denis Shapovalov vs Nishesh Basavareddy Prediction
Denis Shapovalov is coming off one of his best weeks on the ATP Tour as the Canadian won the Dallas Open a couple of weeks ago and played some outstanding tennis. Ove the course of that week, he beat four of the six top seeds as he overcame Tomas Machac, Taylor Fritz, Tommy Paul and then Casper Ruud in the final to lift the title.
That will give the 25-year-old a huge boost in confidence and he will hope he can kick on from here and grab some more titles in 2025.
He takes on talented youngster Nishesh Basavareddy who had to come through qualifying to reach the main draw. He won both in straight sets and those will help him build some momentum for his first tournament since the Australian Open.
So much depends on which version of Shapovalov turns up here but even still, the left-hander is never easy to face for the first time. With the momentum from his Dallas Open win, Shapovalov can beat Basavareddy here.
