Dayana Yastremska vs Coco Gauff prediction

Dayana Yastremska won a close three-set match in round one against Francesca Jones, taking a hard fought first set on a tiebreak before overcoming a slump in the second to set up a match with American Coco Gauff.

Gauff fell to a straight sets defeat to Jessica Paolini in the quarter-finals of the Stuttgart Open in her first clay event of the year. The American raced into a 4-2 lead in the first set but couldn’t maintain her momentum, losing four straight games while an early break in set two sealed her fate. The 21-year-old hasn’t particularly threatened at any event since making the quarter-finals of the Australian Open in January.

A former French Open finalist in 2022, Gauff has the upper hand in the head-to-head with Yastremska as she leads 2-0, both matches having been on clay. The first occasion was at this very event in the third-round last year, with the American winning in straight sets while she repeated the feat a month later at the same stage of Roland Garros.

Gauff is great value to win in straight sets again.
