David Goffin vs Mariano Navone prediction

David Goffin recovered from losing a second set tiebreak to beat Billy Harris 6-2 6-7 6-4 and advance to the second-round. The Belgian only took a third of his break point opportunities and had a first serve percentage of under 50% during the match, so he has aspects of his game that need refining if he is to make a really deep run at this tournament.

His opponent will be Mariano Navone as the Argentine picked up a brilliant victory in recovering from a set down to beat third seed Felix Auger Aliassime. In a match which went over three hours, Navone won 2-6 6-4 7-6. Navone had to dig deep, with the Canadian having plenty of chances to break on his serve, but he dug deep to survive and earn his most impressive win since beating Holger Rune at the Argentina Open two months ago.

Navone will be grateful for the day’s rest after such an intense battle but he will be full of confidence after his first-round win and we’re backing him to make it through here.
