David Goffin vs Ben Shelton Prediction

David Goffin picked up his first win of the year on the ATP Tour as he beat Australian Rinky Hijikata 6-2 6-3 in the first round. Goffin was excellent but Hijikata just could not going as he served five double faults and won a meagre six points in total on the Goffin serve.

The Belgian will face a completely different assignment next up as he meets talented American Ben Shelton with a place in the quarters up for grabs.

The fifth seed had to graft hard in his first-round match against Flavio Cobolli but he came through 7-6 7-6 to register an excellent win against an opponent he has struggled against in the past.

Shelton has never faced Goffin before and it will be an interesting test for him too. We just favour the 22-year-old to have too much energy and his serve should be key but we sense this one could go all the way and will not be easy as odds suggest.
