David Goffin vs Alex de Minaur Prediction

David Goffin produced a strong performance in the first round as he overcame Lorenzo Sonego 6-4 7-5. A semi-finalist in 2016, Goffin has typically not had a great record at Indian Wells and while he will not have overly high expectations coming into this match, he will be eager to spark an upset here.

He faces a man who he has never beaten before in six attempts on the ATP Tour in Alex de Minaur. The pair have played six times and a total of 13 sets and Goffin has only managed to win one of them. The last time they met was in Rotterdam just a few weeks ago and De Minaur won 6-2 6-4.

De Minaur has started 2025 in fine form and he clearly has an extra bit of motivation in his game this year after missing some of 2024 through injury.

He should be well rested after losing to Marin Cilic in the first round in Dubai and he should sufficiently raise his game to beat Goffin for a seventh successive occasion here.
