Davey Grant: English vet looks to bounce back from loss last time out
Davey Grant (15-7) returns to action having not fought in the UFC since July 2023. He lost a split decision to Daniel Marcos last time out which was disappointing after he had won his last two bouts. Many thought that decision was incorrect however so the loss will not dishearten Grant. He was due to fight in March against Cody Gibson but he had to withdraw through injury and he will be raring to go here against Taveras.
Ramon Taveras: The Savage aiming to make it three in a row
Ramon Taveras (10-2) has won his last two fights and his confidence will be high coming into this bout. After coming through Dana White's Contender Series, he won on his UFC debut as he avenged the previous loss by beating Serhiy Sidey by split decision at UFC 297. He will now look to make it three wins out of three as he faces the extremely experienced Grant.
Davey Grant vs Ramon Taveras Prediction
This is one of the more even bouts on the prelims as Davey Grant meets Ramon Taveras in the bantamweight division. Grant is super experienced and although he has been out of action for some time, he should be savvy enough to handle the lack of activity.
Taveras is a fighter on the rise and he continues to impress during his short time in the organisation. He possesses good knockout power but Grant has an incredibly solid chin and that is unlikely to be a factor here.
Grant is really good technically and he has been around a long time. He came through The Ultimate Fighter when Miesha Tate and Ronda Rousey were coaches back in 2013 and he has been in the Octagon with some quality fighters like Marlon Vera.
He may just be a little too experienced and technical for Taveras here and while we do not love his inactivity over the last 16 months, he should be able to overcome that and get a win here.
Prediction: Davey Grant to win
