Reigning champion Peter Wright’s preparation for this event has hardly been ideal with personal problems taking his focus away from darts recently. However, those issues appear to be behind him now and he has been able to refocus as he aims to win a third World Championship in four years. He takes on Mickey Mansell, who progressed earlier in the evening thanks to a 3-1 win over Ben Robb. Mansell put in a good performance in that encounter, averaging over 92, but this is a significant step up in class. The Northern Ireland thrower is capable of winning a set perhaps, but Snakebite should prevail.
