Tournament debutant Chris Landman eased to a 3-0 win over former BDO world champion Scott Mitchell in the first round and will have been pleased with his proficiency on the doubles. However, he will be aware that he’ll need to increase his scoring if he is to back that up here, as Ian White is an experienced campaigner. ‘Diamond’ remains more of a floor specialist than one who excels in TV tournaments but a run to the World Grand Prix quarter-finals earlier this year showed that he can perform under the lights from time to time. Despite the fact some early nerves are likely to set in, White should claim the win here.
