Raymond Smith averaged 94.84 in an assured display to beat Jamie Hughes in the first round in what was his first career win on the Alexandra Palace stage and the Aussie has a great chance of progressing here as he faces what appears to be an out-of-form Devon Petersen. The South African reached the quarter-finals of the UK Open back in March but has been unable to replicate that form since, notably losing 11 of his last 12 games on the PDC Tour. He reached the fourth round of the PDC World Darts Championship last year but his current form is a major concern and Smith looks capable of recording an upset here.
