Two rising stars lock horns on Friday evening as 25-year-old William Borland takes on promising 21-year-old talent Bradley Brooks, with the winner set to face Ryan Searle in the second round. Brooks’ superb run to the last 16 of the Grand Slam of Darts last month will stand him in good stead here as he looked very much at home on the big stage in Wolverhampton, where he pushed eventual champion Gerwyn Price all the way. He looks a star in the making but Borland is a tough competitor himself having made excellent progress on tour over the last couple of years. Expect a tight battle here and one that could go all the way to a deciding set, with Brooks predicted to emerge victorious.
