It has been a real breakthrough year on the PDC circuit for 23-year-old Callan Rydz, who won two Players Championship events and made the quarter-finals of the World Matchplay on his debut in the televised tournament. With such performances bring expectation but he looks more than up to the task ahead of his first-round clash with Yuki Yamada. The Japanese thrower is more a of a soft-tip specialist but did reach the second round at Ally Pally in 2020 so should not be underestimated. He has also represented his country in the World Cup of Darts but he may struggle to contain Rydz here, who is tipped to progress to round two and continue his rise up the rankings.
