THE PREDICTION
Adam Hunt has had a fairly unspectacular season on the oche and failed to make much headway in the tournaments he entered in the second half of the year. He did reach the third round at Alexandra Palace last year though, and here he faces a man who has been in even poorer form in recent times. Boris Krcmar enjoyed something of a purple patch in the summer when he made two Pro Tour quarter-finals and notably recorded a win over current world champion Gerwyn Price, but his game has tailed off since then with a string of defeats. He did well to qualify for the Grand Slam of Darts but he was soundly beaten in all three of his group games in Wolverhampton and those on-stage performances do no bode well for him here. This could be a scrappy affair, but Hunt is fancied to progress.
