THE PREDICTION

World Championship debutant Maik Kuivenhoven and Matthew Edgar - who has yet to win a match in his two previous visits to Ally Pally - are meeting for the right to face Austria’s Mensur Suljovic in round two. Neither of the pair have been in good form in the run up to this tournament so it is fair to say that they are very much in need of a confidence boost as the year draws to a close. Kuivenhoven has won just one of his last ten matches on the PDC circuit, while Edgar has suffered seven successive first round defeats in ranking tournaments, so one would not place too much confidence in either of them taking the initiative here. A small wager on the match to last over 4.5 sets is the betting tip.
