Danny Noppert vs Ryan Joyce Prediction

Danny Noppert is a class act but it’s fair to say he’s underperformed at the PDC World Darts Championship having failed to go beyond the third round in his previous six entries. 

The 13th seed, a former BDO world finalist, has had his usual solid year on tour though, winning a floor event at Players Championship 8 and reaching the latter stages of several events, although a semi-final appearance at the European Championship in October was his only meaningful run at a televised major in 2024.

Former quarter-finalist Ryan Joyce delivered an accomplished performance in his first-round contest with tricky customer Darius Labanauskas, averaging just shy of 93 in a 3-1 victory. Since that run to the last eight in 2019 though, Joyce hasn’t gone beyond the second round at Ally Pally.

This a potential stumbling block for Noppert, who has often underperformed at the worlds. If he plays to his ability then he should progress, but a stubborn Joyce won’t make it easy.
