Daniil Medvedev vs Pierre-Hugues Herbert Prediction

It has been a miserable start to 2025 for Daniil Medvedev based on his high standards and after early eliminations in the Australian Open to Learner Tien and in Rotterdam last week to Mattia Bellucci, he is under some pressure to find some form this week.

He comes to Marseille as the top seed this week and he will be desperate to find some form and momentum in this one.

He meets Pierre-Hugues Herbert who he met in a final in Marseille back in 2021 and he edged a three-setter.

Herbert had to come through qualifying to reach the main draw and then he beat Harold Mayot in three sets on Wednesday in the first round.

He has some momentum on his side to he will be desperate to catch Medvedev cold here but it is a big ask. Herbert fired down 16 aces against Mayot but also 13 double faults. He is not playing at a high enough level to really trouble Medvedev and we expect the out-of-form Russian to get a much-needed win.
