Daniil Medvedev vs Alexandre Muller prediction

Daniil Medvedev began his clay court season with a tough three-set win against compatriot Karen Khachanov. Both players took part in punishing rallies during a bruising encounter, but the ninth seed came through 7-5 4-6 6-4 in two hours and 52 minutes.

His opponent in the next round will be Alexandre Muller, who produced a really solid performance to defeat Camilo Ugo 6-4 6-4, with the world number 39 not being broken on his serve during the whole match. 

Medvedev leads the head-to-head 1-0, though that was at last year’s Wimbledon Championships, in which the former world number one defeated the Frenchman in four sets after losing the first on a tiebreak.

Despite having never played against each other on clay, and Medvedev’s complicated relationship with the surface, we still believe the Russian has the capabilities to come out on top in another slugfest and advance through to the next round.
