Daniel Altmaier vs Tomas Machac Prediction
Germany’s Daniel Altmaier had to fightback from a set down to beat Miomir Kecmanovic in the first round. Altmaier’s serve was in good shape as he blasted 15 and ran out 4-6 6-4 6-3 winner.
The 26-year-old now takes on Tomas Machac who had a three-set battle of his own against compatriot and doubles’ partner Jakub Mensik. Against the younger Czech, Machac won 6-4 2-6 6-3 and the eighth seed now faces Altmaier for a place in the quarters.
The pair have never met before on the ATP Tour but they did meet in a Challenger match back in 2019. Machac won that in three sets but it is hard to see that match having much of a bearing on this one.
We do however like Machac’s chances in this one. His return game is sufficiently good enough to create openings on the Altmaier serve and we think he does enough to progress.
Daniel Altmaier vs Tomas Machac Tip: Tomas Machac to win
