Da’Mon Blackshear (16-7-1) is coming into this fight hot as he grabbed a submission win over Cody Gibson just six weeks ago at UFC Fight Night 254 and he will be hoping to make it three wins in a row here. He beat Cody Stamann by submission prior to that Gibson win and Blackshear has good momentum behind him right now.
He takes on Alateng Heili at UFC on ESPN 66 and the Chinese 33-year-old also brings some momentum in having won three of his last four in the Octagon. His last fight was almost a year ago last May when he picked up a unanimous decision win over Kleydson Rodrigues and he will be hoping to pick up when he left off.
We have a clear preference for Blackshear in this fight. His list of opponents have been at a higher level than Heili’s and while the Chinese fighter certainly has a puncher’s chance with his decent knockout power, we think Blackshear edges this technically.
