Dakota Ditcheva: Unbeaten Mancunian looking to step up on world stage
25-year-old Dakota Ditcheva (13-0) is making some serious noise in MMA and the English star will by full of confidence coming into this final. She has knocked out her opponents in 11 of her 13 fights with a decision and submission resulting in the other two wins. Her power is immense and after dominating at regional levels, she has carried that on in the PFL in the last couple of years. She won the PFL Europe Women’s Flyweight tournament last year and now she is fighting at world level and looking to win the tournament in Riyadh.
Taila Santos: Former UFC fighter aiming to justify promotion switch
Brazil’s Taila Santos (22-3) was with the UFC until the end of last year but joined the PFL this year and has not looked back. She has won all three bouts and beat another UFC veteran in the semis as she won a unanimous decision against Liz Carmouche. It was only a couple of years ago that narrowly she failed in her UFC flyweight championship bid against star Valentina Shevchenko by split decision. That demonstrates the quality the 31-year-old possesses.
Dakota Ditcheva vs Taila Santos Prediction
Dakota Ditcheva faces off against Taila Santos in what promises to be an exciting women’s flyweight tournament final.
The English 25-year-old fighting out of Manchester is a star in the making and she comes into this fight heavily favoured.
That is impressive given the calibre that Taila Santos possesses and it does not feel quite so one-sided as the bookmakers suggest to us.
That said, we do prefer Ditcheva in this one. She has incredibly power for a flyweight and it is hard to see anybody stopping her. Santos will have to use all her experience to somehow nullify her threat but Ditcheva is so well-rounded, we have to side with her.
Prediction: Dakota Ditcheva to win
