Crystal Palace Preview: Back on track

Last weekend, Crystal Palace pulled off an impressive 3-0 defeat of capital city rivals Fulham at Craven Cottage in the quarter-finals of the FA Cup. Eberechi Eze and Ismaila Sarr scored first-half goals before the game was sealed in the 75th minute via Eddie Nketiah.

The Eagles have since shared a 1-1 draw with bottom-of-the-table Southampton at St Mary’s in the league during the week with Paul Onuachu opening the scoring for the Saints before Matheus Franca equalised in second-half stoppage-time for Oliver Glasner’s side.

Brighton Preview: Hammered in midweek

Fabian Hurzeler’s Brighton and Hove Albion had rediscovered some impressive form after a 7-0 defeat to Nottingham Forest at the City Ground in early February and remain in contention for the UEFA Champions League but their return from the March international break has been poor.

Last weekend, the Seagulls suffered defeat to the aforementioned Forest on penalties in the quarter-finals of the FA Cup at the AMEX Stadium before they then suffered a 3-0 loss at home to fellow top four or five chasers Aston Villa at home in midweek.

Crystal Palace Team News: Richards not to be risked

United States international defender Chris Richards is not 100% fit yet and Oliver Glasner has said he will not risk him this weekend. They have a couple of injury issues for this one such as Morocco international defender Chadi Riad and Mali international defensive midfielder Cheick Doucoure.

Predicted XI (3-4-2-1): Henderson; Clyne, Lacroix, Guehi; Munoz, Hughes, Wharton, Mitchell; Sarr, Eze; Mateta

Unavailable: Riad (Injured), Richards (Fitness), Doucoure (Injured)

Brighton Team News: A few injuries

Brighton and Hove Albion boss Fabian Hurzeler has confirmed that there are no fresh injury concerns for the Seagulls to deal with this weekend. Joel Veltman is getting back to full fitness but this weekend will come to soon for the former Netherlands international defender.

Crystal Palace vs Brighton Prediction

Crystal Palace have been one of the best teams in the league since they won their first game of the campaign in mid-to-late-October. The Eagles have been very impressive, rediscovering their form from the back end of last season. They now face a Brighton side that will be a little concerned they could fall back into the slide they endured through the middle of the season. Given the visitors’ recent form as well as Palace being at home, siding with the Eagles looks the way to go for this one.

Crystal Palace vs Brighton Tip: Double chance – Crystal Palace to win or draw
