Cronulla Sharks vs Manly Sea Eagles prediction

The Cronulla Sharks led their match last week against the Canberra Raiders in the 80th minute and found a way to lose 24-20. The Manly Sea Eagles were humbled at home against the Melbourne Storm to the tune of 48-24. 14 late points adding some respectability to the final result.

The Sea Eagles have enjoyed the luxury of four home matches in the first five rounds and have three wins to show for it. Last week’s performance to the Storm however asked some serious questions regarding the defensive intensity of the side and if there is any lingering issues relating to the Daly Cherry-Evans contract saga. Coming off one of their worst performances in years, the Sea Eagles make the long trek to Perth to take on a side they have traditionally flexed their muscle against.

In recent times however, the Sharks have had the better of their archrivals, winning four of five. Perth is also a venue they have tasted success at, defeating Souths in 2023.

The Sharks have found ways to beat themselves in recent weeks and the nagging questions remain. Can they consistently perform well against Top 8 sides? What has happened to Nicho Hynes? Are they genuine contenders?

We think the Sharks can bounce back in this one. With a firm track and fine weather expected, plenty of points are on offer and this will see the Sharks getting the job done.
