SYDNEY THUNDER PREVIEW: IMPROVEMENT REQUIRED IN ALL DEPARTMENTS

Sydney Thunder were comprehensively outplayed in their opening game both with bat and ball. Conceding 141, they ended up bowled out for just 110 with only one batter passing a half-century and with home advantage in their favour this time around, the Thunder need to take advantage and come back strongly.

HOBART HURRICANES PREVIEW: CANES BACK UP PRE-SEASON EXPECTATIONS

After winning the T20 Spring Challenge leading up to the WBBL, Hobart Hurricanes have backed that up with a dominating win in their first match, showing that they really do look a force to be reckoned with this year. They’ve never won the BBL but couldn’t have got off to a better start, putting the rest of the league on notice.

SYDNEY THUNDER BETTING ANALYSIS

The only Sydney Thunder batter who could really hold their head up high in Hobart was Phoebe Litchfield. Her 51 at least kept their failed run chase respectable and a player of her quality is likely to shine across this tournament. Back on home soil, Litchfield will want to make a big impact and against opposition she has already done well against, backing the Australian international to score 20+ runs look to be a smart play.

HOBART HURRICANES BETTING ANALYSIS

Heather Graham ripped apart Sydney Thunder with the ball at the Bellerive Oval, recording figures of 3/19 from her four overs. Graham bowls medium-fast with clever variations in pace and deliveries, making her difficult to attack even on flat pitches. Graham could well have the beating of these Thunder batters again and it’s worth considering backing her to record over 1.5 match wickets for the second straight game.

SYDNEY THUNDER VS HOBART HURRICANES EXPERT PREDICTION

What sort of Sydney Thunder will we see on this occasion? At home, you would expect them to be much stronger, particularly with the bat as they look to back up Litchfield. As good as Hobart have looked so far this year, they are yet to be tested away from home in the WBBL. Sydney Thunder boasts enough firepower to come back fighting and backing them to gain revenge may be a move worth making.
