THE PREDICTION

Melbourne Renegades may take a bit of time to adapt as a unit when taking around account the vast changes in player personnel. When they do click though, expect fireworks courtesy of players such as captain Sophie Molineux and overseas batting trio, Eve Jones, Harmanpreet Kaur and Jemimah Rodrigues, who made waves earlier this year following her performances in the inaugural Women’s Hundred competition. Hobart Hurricanes have usually proven the weakest of the BBL franchises in recent years, but could well cause a surprise this year having brought in the likes of Molly Strano and Mignon du Preez. Strano will be looking forward to taking on her old club and helps forms a strong looking Hobart bowling unit alongside Nicola Carey and Taylor Vlaeminck. With the Melbourne Renegades batting order likely needing time to bed in together, the experience of the Hurricanes with the ball could catch them cold here and on their home ground, backing Hobart Hurricanes to come out on top may well prove a shrewd move.
