Sydney Sixers had a WBBL to forget last year, finishing rock bottom of the table and the two-time champions are expected to significantly improve on that showing this time round. With star Australian international players such as Alyssa Healy, Ellyse Perry and Ashleigh Gardner among their ranks, not to mention one of the best spin-bowlers in the world in England’s Sophie Eccleston, there is little excuse for the Sixers not to perform. Whilst Brisbane Heat contain some serious international quality themselves through the likes of skipper Jess Jonassen and Danni Wyatt, Sydney Sixers appear the stronger all-round side on paper and have to be favoured for the first victory of this season’s WBBL.
