The first match of this season’s Marsh One-Day Cup sees last year’s finalists New South Wales take on Victoria in Melbourne. Both sides are affected by international commitments, but the hosts look well set with a number of strong white ball players such as Jake Fraser-McGurk and Peter Handscomb, whilst Marcus Harris and Will Pucovski are likely to enjoy batting on what should prove a flat pitch. New South Wales are captained by Kurtis Patterson and the boasts the likes of Moises Henriques and Ben Dwarshuis among their ranks. However, a plethora of players won’t feature here due to Australia’s tour of India and that is likely to take its toll initially.
