Essex Eagles’ first home match of the season sees them host Hampshire Hawks who are embarking on their second fixture in as many days. Simon Harmer’s side were thrashed by Somerset at the weekend, but will desperately hoping that a notoriously noisy Chelmsford crowd free of Covid restrictions for the first time since 2019, the year they won the competition can help drive them on. However, Hampshire are a more experienced team with a superior batting unit on paper and the likes of James Vince and Ben McDermott could have a field day on a ground with such short boundaries.
