THE TEAM NEWS
MARATHA ARABIANS
- Maratha Arabians came unstuck in their opening match against the defending champions Northern Warriors as their total of 88/6 when batting first was nowhere near good enough and the Warriors chased it down in just seven overs
- The batting will have to improve here although they cannot make a worse start than last time out when Adam Lyth was out with the very ball of the innings while Chris Lynn was out for just four, so that duo will be keen to contribute more here.
- They bat down as far as number eight where Dwayne Bravo comes in but they need more from their top order to give their bowlers more runs to play with and they could well go unchanged and give this set of players another opportunity.
QALANDARS
- The Qalandars produced a stunning performance in their second match on Saturday as they hit 112/4 when batting first against Northern Warriors and then bowled out the defending champions for just 46.
- The bowling unit was exceptional with three wickets apiece for Kumara and Garton, while Prasanna and Jordan took two each as their bowlers played a key role as they did in the opening match which they tied.
- Tom Banton was the star of the show with an unbeaten fifty and while they will be keen to edge closer to 120, there is plenty of quality throughout the side in what is one of the more balanced teams in the tournament, and they should go unchanged here.
THE PREDICTION
The Qalandars produced arguably the most complete performance of the tournament so far on Saturday as they beat the Northern Warriors by a mammoth 66 runs. Their team has been one of the more solid and consistent performers over the first couple of days and will take some beating. The Arabians were pretty average in their opening match and they will need to raise their game notably to beat the impressive Qalandars who will be confident of picking up another win here.
