HULL FC FORM: HULL FALL SHORT IN FRANCE

It was another solid showing from Hull but they did not do enough to overcome Catalans Dragons on their trip to Perpignan and despite some improved efforts of late, they need to find a way to secure more wins.

LAST FIVE: LLLWL

ST. HELENS FORM: FIVE LOSSES IN-A-ROW FOR SAINTS

St. Helens were humiliated by Leigh Leopards last week as they were downed for a fifth successive contest. That 46-4 loss left a lot to be desired from Saints and they are under real pressure to stop the rot here.

LAST FIVE: LLLLL

Following his red card in last week’s loss, Ligi Sao has been handed a two-game ban so will sit this out while Liam Sutcliffe and King Vuniyayawa are injured as their list of unavailable players continues to grow.

ST. HELENS TEAM NEWS: LOMAX BANNED; WELSBY INJURED

Like Hull, Saints are also suffering from a lack of important players available to them with Jonny Lomax joining that list after he was handed a ban while Jack Welsby is injured. Mark Percival is also out but Morgan Knowles and Joe Batchelor make welcome returns.

HULL FC VS ST. HELENS PREDICTION

St. Helens’ loss last week was their fifth in succession, the first time that has happened to them in Super League. There will have been a lot of soul searching on the back of such a poor display against Leigh Leopards but they pressure is really on here and they must now do without two key men in the shape of Jonny Lomax and Jack Welsby. Hull FC are in even worse shape in terms of their unavailable players but their recent efforts suggest they can make a contest of this and they are fancied with the aid of a start on the handicap.

HULL FC VS ST. HELENS TIP: HULL FC +10.5
