THE PREDICTION

A thrilling conclusion to a first Test that looked at one point that it would be spoiled by rain on the final day, saw New Zealand emerge victorious off the very last ball of the match. The win was under-pinned by a splendid unbeaten century from Kane Williamson, who showed his class under intense pressure. Sri Lanka needed to win to stand any hope of qualifying for the World Test Championship final and it would be no surprise if the motivation within their camp has shrunk as a result. With that in mind, New Zealand could well dominate across this second Test and backing them to secure a 2-0 series win has to be favoured.
