Defending champions MI New York are looking to bounce back from a frustrating, weather-affected defeat against the Washington Freedom last time out, whilst the Texas Super Kings have progressively improved over the course of their three matches so far.

MI NEW YORK FORM: FORGETTING THE LAST GAME
MI New York began the defence of their Major League Cricket title with an impressive six-wicket hammering of last season’s fellow finalists Seattle Orcas. In their second match, though, they managed to score just 154-9 in their 20 overs with Washington Freedom getting up to 55-1 in 7.4 overs before the rain came and gave the Freedom a four-run victory using the DLS method.

TEXAS SUPER KINGS FORM: GRADUALLY GETTING THERE
The Chennai Super Kings-influenced Texas Super Kings started their tournament really slowly with a 12-run defeat to the Los Angeles Knight Riders in which they scored just 150-8 in 20 overs. Their second game saw them score over 200 but they were saved by the rain when the Washington Freedom were 62-0 after four overs before TSK then enjoyed a seven-wicket win over the San Francisco Unicorns.

MI NEW YORK BETTING ANALYSIS
Last season, as MI New York won the inaugural MLC season, they relied upon the brilliance of their keeper-batter Nicholas Pooran, who finished as the tournament top scorer. He has already started with being MI New York’s top scorer in both of their matches so far, too, with only Faf du Plessis, of TSK, having scored more runs than him thus far, having played an extra game. Backing Pooran to score 30+ runs is always worth a bet in pretty much any T20 match.
With the ball, MI New York have an impressive and varied attack with USA international Nosthush Kenjige supporting Trent Boult, Rashid Khan and Anrich Nortje. It was Ehsan Adli, though, who took their wicket against Washington Freedom and the tightness and control to which the Pakistan medium pacer can bowl with will be potentially extremely frustrating for a TSK side desperate not to be bogged down like they were in their opening game. As a result, Adli taking two or more wickets in the match looks a good bet.
TEXAS SUPER KINGS BETTING ANALYSIS
Similarly to the aforementioned Chennai in the Indian Premier League, TSK have been guilty of being too slow in their run scoring and that let them down in their opening match. Since then, though, Faf du Plessis has shown some real power and he, as well as Devon Conway, are looking to put their foot down. There is little beyond them, though, so backing either Du Plessis or Conway to be the TSK top scorer is pretty much a certain bet for almost every game in this tournament.
With the ball, though, they are deep and showed a lot of variety to skittle the San Francisco Unicorns for just 127 the other day. Five men took the wickets but it was the impressive bowling of Mohammad Mohsin, with his legbreaks, that took 4-13 in 3.5 overs to effectively win them the game. Mohsin bowled well against LAKR, too, despite going wicket-less. Him to be the best bowler for TSK, once again, would appear a decent shout.
MI NEW YORK VS TEXAS SUPER KINGS EXPERT PREDICTION
Now then, after their opening match each, this one would have seemed like a bit of a foregone conclusion with Texas Super Kings clear underdogs. Since then, TSK have improved and managed to collect three points, whilst their opponents suffered a narrow and harsh defeat in the rain against Washington Freedom. The bowling attack of MI New York will be confident of dealing and coping with the extra aggression from Conway and Du Plessis, though, and beyond that there isn’t much to be excited about with TSK. As a result, MI New York are firm favourites here.
