The Netherlands are without some key players for this tournament due to T20 Blast involvement but they remain one of the stronger associates as they face a Nepalese side also missing their key man for very different reasons.

NETHERLANDS FORM: MISSING KEY MEN
The Netherlands were due to play against Canada before the tournament started but that game was washed out. That, though, should not overshadow the fact they basically thumped Sri Lanka by 20 runs last week on the back of a poor showing in a tri-series with Scotland and Ireland in which they suffered two narrow defeats to the Irish and a hammering at the hands of the Scots.

NEPAL FORM: AGGRESSIVE & ATTACKING NEPAL
The Nepalese will be very concerned about their form as they head into this tournament and begin in Texas. Prior to their warm-up match against hosts USA being abandoned, they had suffered fairly comfortable defeats to Canada, Hong Kong and the United Arab Emirates since edging past Saudi Arabia with four balls to spare in April.

NETHERLANDS BETTING ANALYSIS
Roelof van der Merwe has been kept by Somerset for the T20 Blast and so has Colin Ackermann at Durham. That is a massive shame for the Dutch and, combined with Fred Klaassen, does lessen their experience and quality for the tournament. Despite that, though, they have exceptional options with bat and ball and a tall, fast bowler is expected to be able to ruffle most associates’ up so backing Paul van Meekeren to be their best wicket taker in the match seems sensible.
An alternative betting market and angle to look at for this one would be the Man of the Match market and you can never look past the excellent Durham all-rounder Bas de Leede. The emerging talent has perhaps not had an electric start to the county season but he, alongside Scott Edwards, is arguably the Netherlands’ most important player due to his ability with both bat and ball.
NEPAL BETTING ANALYSIS
The controversial Sandeep Lamichhane has been denied a Visa to the United States so will not be available for Nepal throughout the tournament. That means the onus for wickets will be on the likes of medium-pace duo Karan KC and Pratis GC. The pair are at very different stages of their career with the latter just emerging and the latter to have something of a breakthrough tournament and continue his strong T20I career thus far would seem a good chance so backing him to take the most Dutch wickets in this match seems a good bet.
In terms of the bat, there is very little for Nepal to cling to really, and that has often been their undoing, barring the occasional exploits of all-rounder Dipenda Singh Airee. Against a varied Dutch attack, Nepal to score less than 100 may well indeed be a good value bet.
NETHERLANDS VS NEPAL EXPERT PREDICTION
The Netherlands have been unfortunately and cruelly hamstrung by things beyond their control ahead of this tournament and yet, such is the growing strength in depth of Dutch cricket, they still have a capable squad. Nepal are without their best player and are in poor form. They are one of the more courageous and energetic fielding sides and will need to be to close the gaps in quality between these two nations and the Netherlands should come out on top.
