CANADA FORM: POOR BOWLING COSTLY FOR CANADIANS

Canada would have felt really confident after racking up 194/5 against United States in the first game of the tournament, before taking a wicket with the second ball of the chase and reducing their opponents to 42/2, but the good start ended there as the USA blasted their way to victory, helped by Canada’s wayward bowling, with 14 wides and 3 no balls.

LAST FIVE: LWLLL

IRELAND FORM: OUTPLAYED IN DIFFICULT CONDITIONS, IRELAND MUST RESPOND.

After losing a crucial toss against India, the Irish batters struggled dramatically on a pitch offering uneven bounce, India’s pace bowlers ripping through them and dismissing them for just 96 in 16 overs. Unsurprisingly, Ireland were unable to defend that score, taking only two Indian wickets in response.

LAST FIVE: LWWAW

CANADA BETTING ANALYSIS

Although Canada batted well against United States, repeating the feat on a tougher ground to score on will be very difficult. You would expect a low-scoring encounter and bettors should react as appropriate. Whoever bats first, back under 20.5 runs to be scored at the fall of the first wicket.

Whilst two Canadian players recorded half-centuries last time out, any of their batters reaching that feat on this occasion has to be considered unlikely if the pitch plays like it has across the majority of this tournament so far. With that in mind, back no individual score of fifty to be struck this time around by a Canada batter.

IRELAND BETTING ANALYSIS

Mark Adair had the distinction of taking Virat Kohli’s wicket on Wednesday, the experienced right-arm quick dismissing the India superstar for just one. Such a scalp will have given Adair a huge shot of confidence and backing him to go one better in this game and net 2+ wickets is worthy of serious consideration.

The same play for bettors applies when focusing on Josh Little. The left-arm pacer had less luck against India but a player of his quality should come back strongly. Offering a point of difference, Little should cause Canada some serious problems and to back him gaining over 1.5 wickets via the ‘Bowler Total Match Wickers’ market would be a sensible investment.

CANADA VS IRELAND EXPERT PREDICTION

Whilst the pitch at Nassau County International Cricket Stadium may well prove substantial more helpful than what the Canadian bowlers faced in Texas, question marks remain over whether they have the skill to utilise any helpful surface conditions to maximum effect. Having played on the ground before should hugely benefit Ireland, who will know what they are dealing with.

When also factoring the vastly more experienced players possessed by Ireland, who have been down this road before at a major ICC tournament, it bodes well for Paul Stirling’s side. Expect them to bounce back immediately from Wednesday by getting the better of Canada.
